Size Limitation of Exchange Database

Exchange Server 2003 Standard Edition

One storage group can be created on a server
One mailbox store database and one public folder store database
Maximum 16-gigabyte (GB) database limit per database
Exchange clustering is not supported

Exchange Server 2003 Enterprise Edition
Four storage groups
Five databases per storage group
16 terabyte database limit, limited only by hardware
Exchange clustering is supported

Exchange Server 2007

Only Enterprise Edition can scale to 50 databases per server;
Standard Edition is limited to 5 databases per server.
The default database size limit for Exchange 2007 Standard Edition is
50 gigabytes (GB). There is no default database size limit for the Exchange 2007
Enterprise Edition.

Exchange 2010 Enterprise and Exchange 2010 Standard

Exchange Server 2010 Standard Edition can host up to 5 databases on a server.
Exchange Server 2010 Enterprise Edition can host up to 100 databases on a server.
The default database size limit for Exchange 2010 Standard Edition is 1024 gigabytes
There is no default database size limit for the Exchange 2010 Enterprise Edition.
